The Local Youth Group "Wings in Europe" (GLT “Aripi in Europa”) is a non-governamental, apolitical and non-profit association that doesn’t belong to any religious sect, which brings together children and youth organizers and participants in specific activities with a large  thematic area. The fundamental element of our activities is the ludic activity that uses themes like ecology, health, European values, preservation of traditions, prevention of alcohol, tobacco and drugs, interpersonal communication that are materialized in  play days (every Saturday)

The Mosta Youth Empowerment Centre (MYEC) offers support services to young people in the locality. The main aim, as the name suggests, is to empower young people and provide them with the information required whether this relates to career guidances, health, work opportunities, the rights of young people, the environment, religion, etc. Young people also come to discuss particular issues important to them. Depending on the issue, we also offer one-to-one sessions where we guide the young person throught the different option available.

The society has steadily grown stronger and is now the premier humanitarian agency in the country. The Akranes branch has, for the past three years, been developing new projects with immigrants, refugees, disabled children and people living in social isolation.

MARDI is an NGO run solely by unwaged volunteers, many from minority ethnic backgrounds.
We are based in the North West of Ireland, and work with groups marginalized within our communities, - traveller youth, immigrant youth , and asylum seekers and refugees. We provide support and now advocacy for individual asylum cases, our most recent is a woman whose three year old daughter was placed in the care of the Health Services Executive, and has now been made a ward of the Irish State until the age of l8.
